Today my DOA membership turns 10 years old and what a decade it has been. I've had so many interests over the years, but this is the first hobby that I actively stuck with. Looking back on this 10 years, I grew from a teenager into the late 20s adult I am today. My experiences and attitude towards the hobby matured as I did. There were periods of hiatuses, impulse buying, mistakes, regrets, and most importantly there was a lot of joy. When you're involved in a hobby that long, you see the good and bad of it, but most importantly the evolution of it.
My username is Pinkbear, which at the time was one of my favorite stationary characters from a Korean stationary store and also something my 18 year old self definitely chose!
As I reflect on all the dolls I've purchased and sold, the friends I've made, and and the BJD owner that I am today, I've changed so much and yet there are parts of me that are still that 18 year old girl who searched for Chobbits cosplay ears and ended up finding the picture of Volks Toppi MSD and was enamored by her.
I sure jumped into one heck of a rabbit hole!

First Post - Welcome! - and a Romantic Photoshoot
I've been in the BJD hobby for almost 10 years (April's the anniversary) and I never really created a blog or discussed my experiences about it. I'm a member of Den of Angels (Pinkbear) and used that as the primary platform for the hobby. I've come a long way in this hobby to finally feel content, making life long friends along the way, and building a collection that I'm very proud of.
My first entry for this blog is going to be a photoshoot highlighting my only two SD+ sized dolls. I've been wanting to do a romantic themed photoshoot with these two for some time. When Liam (Iplehouse nYID Andrew) arrived, I paired him with Elise (Delf Lishe) and I thought they worked quite nice together. I don't know if I will develop more photo stories but this is just the beginning.
They're beautiful dolls and photograph well together, highlighting the unique differences between their sculpts. Elise is about 7 years older than Liam, in terms or production dates. A point that I wanted to focus on when posting this to show the change in sculpting trends over the years. The Lishe, sculpted by Cereberus Project (sold by Luts), was created during the time 2005-2006 when dolls had larger eyes, were more stylized. Liam on the other hand is very realistic, as is Iplehouse's esthetic from 2008 to present day.
I'll write more about my dolls and thoughts on the hobby in later posts! :)
